Well, you will need to determine that as you further research this brand new opportunity. If you are looking to own your business and achieve your “why”, multilevel marketing is definitely a way to make this happen.

Ampegy is a new affiliate of Spark Energy, which is a supplier of energy and natural gas. Spark Energy has been in operation since 1999 and is a retail provider of energy in 16 states. Ampegy is currently operating in 7 states in the United States (see map below).

The product is this: deregulated electricity and natural gas services. This is a product that is used on a daily basis out of need; it is not an extravagance or indulgence. Energy is used in good times and in bad times.

Ampegy Leadership

From my research performed, Ampegy corporate leadership is identified (which is a good thing!) and background information is shared. The leadership group is seasoned, experienced in the deregulated energy industry, and has integrity. The founder of Spark Energy and Ampegy, Keith Maxwell, was recently selected as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur for the Year 2010.

One other note of interest… Steve Steve, who was involved with Excel Communications, is the Chief Marketing Officer for Ampegy.

How to Build you Ampegy Business

According to Ampegy, there are three things an Independent Representative needs to do:

1) Enroll Energy Customers

2) Recruit other Independent Representatives

3) Help them do the same 

How to Get Paid in Ampegy

There are multiple ways to be paid through the Ampegy Compensation Plan and these are listed below.

1) Immediate Income with Fast Start Bonuses

2) Recurring Income from Active Customers – Reps are paid a base rate on the Kilowatt Hours consumed by their active customers.

3) Unlimited income with three different bonuses, including the Business Development Bonus, the Customer Development Bonus, and the Check Match Bonus.

So, let me ask you a couple of questions that you should be thinking about before you join Ampegy…  (or any opportunity, for that matter!)

How are you going to bring in customers to your business?
How are you going to recruit other Independent Representatives?
Do you have any marketing experience?
How are you going to market your product and business?

Ampegy may have training and you may get help from your upline. Or you may not. So, how will you build?

Network marketing is an amazing industry and you can achieve success, if you are aligned with the right team, the right training, at the right time. People don’t join companies; people join people.
