Easy Way to Get Backlinks...

What are backlinks and why would you want them?

Backlinks are a link to your site from somewhere else. The more backlinks you have to your site, the higher page rank of your site.

Are you interested getting on the first page of Google for search results? If so, then you need page rank (and therefore, backlinks).

    Hi Amy! Great post! I had not heard of pinggoat before seeing your post today. One thing I wanted to mention however… I went to go to http://www.pingoat.com (notice the .com)… It has been changed to http://www.pinggoat.net (notice the .net).

    Thanks Andie for this great tip. I have a question, In my blog I have a plug-in called Max Blog Press Ping Optimizer. There are 16 sites I have there, so will I have to exclude those sites when I am using pingoat?

    Hi Andrea, Thanks for the info, I'll have to try this. Do you know what the advantages of this over the automatic system setup in WordPress Ping-o-Matic and if pingoat can be setup to be automated? I tried the link on the pingoat page to tools, but go a 404 error.

    Actually Andie, if you are using WordPress for your blog, you can have this done automatically to all of the services listed on pingoat. Go to your admin area, on the left menu, scroll down to settings, select writing and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see an area titled “Update Services”. Enter the services you wish to have publish or track your blog and every time you publish a blog entry, it will be updated automatically without going to another site.

    You are so welcome! If you ping certain sites with the Max Blog Press Ping Optimizer, you can omit those sites from Pingoat (or vice versa).
