My Vision - What is after iLearningGlobal?

Last week, I was on vacation in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama, when I got the email….

Yes, the email that I never expected. iLearningGlobal (iLG), my primary business, was changing its business model. The iLG Board made the decision to discontinue the MLM business model. What??? I was devastated because iLG met all the criteria I was searching for, including:

- Product had no competition.
- Product was based on compelling and current trends (This product was all about the Internet!!!).
- The company’s retention rate was higher than any other I had seen.
- The investment to get started was very reasonable and did not cause “sticker shock”.
- The compensation plan paid out more than any other MLM that I had previously reviewed.

I will miss iLG and the partnerships and relationships that I have formed during this short period of time. But, these relationships will not go away and we will continue to mastermind and help each other, even if we decide to part ways.

So, while I am on vacation, I am thinking to myself, “What’s next?” So, I decided to take my own advice and figure out “what is after iLearningGlobal” for me. My vision is big and I need a company that can support my vision. So, my research began…

The product has to be something different… not juices, not lotions, not potions, or anything of the like (too many companies out there). What products out there do not have competition, have a wide-open market, and can support my vision?

What product is based on current trends? What product is innovative? Does this product work well with an Internet-based business to support growth (with my vision, I am looking for growth!)?

I also am very interested in a company’s retention rate, as I am looking to build a mastermind team of amazing individuals. This is so important when trying to build a residual income. Other business builders will be very interested in this figure, as well.

As I was researching different options, I discovered the investment to start a new opportunity can vary greatly. With the economy in the shape it is in today, the start-up costs need to be reasonable and workable by most individuals. I also reviewed different auto-ship programs, as well (this all needs to be considered when looking at new opportunities).

What does the compensation plan look like? Is it a unilevel, a binary, a forced matrix, etc.? What is the compensation plan based on? How do I make a commission and when am I paid? Can I create a long-term residual income? Is there any “fine” print?

As I was performing my research and due diligence, I also realized that it is so important to connect with the leaders of the team and company that I may be joining. Are the leaders of this organization someone I can align myself with? Do they share the values and the vision that I have?

While traveling, a song came on that blew me away… It is called Can’t Take Away by Mikeschair. It really hit home and I firmly believe everything happens for a reason. Some of the lyrics are as follows (play song below!):

All around, all of us fear has come
And so we must ask ourselves in who we trust
What we have here is not enough
So let it ring, in freedom sing

You can take away everything that I’ve been holding
You can take away the sun
You can take away the very air that I’ve been breathing

As I listened to this amazing song and words, I felt a peace come over me and realized that no one can take away my vision (or my God). Even though iLearningGlobal was “taken away”, you can’t take away my vision or my dream.

After much thought, prayer, and research, I have discovered “what is after iLearningGlobal” and I am extremely excited about the opportunity, the product, the people, and my vision. I can’t wait to help you with your transformation and vision!

How to Achieve MLM Success – Use these 6 Daily Actions!

Achieving success in any endeavor requires action and consistency.  Have you put together your plan of action?  Are you working this plan consistently?  I am going to share 6 Daily Actions to put into place that will allow you to build a successful business.

Jim Britt, entrepreneur, speaker, author, and peak performance specialist, shared his 6 Daily Actions (in a high-definition video on iLearningGlobal) that changed his business after enduring months of struggle.  Jim is the expert in Network Marketing and states you WILL build your business if you apply these actions every day.  So, let’s get started!

Action #1 – Use your product and share it with others.

“Be a product of the product”.  This appears to be so simple to do, but people don’t do it.  Why?  You need to be aware of other people’s needs and wants; these people might want and need what you have to offer.

Action #2 – Share the business opportunity.

This sounds simple, doesn’t it?  People share the product but are scared to share the opportunity.  Share your opportunity with as many people as you can.  Do not pre-judge people.  You do not know where they are at in their life.  You are the messenger, not the message.  Use your tools (presentations, webinars, DVDs, 3-way calls, etc.) to tell the story.

Action #3 – Follow up.

This is the one thing that most networkers miss.  I know I have heard… “The money is in the follow up!”  You should always keep these two words in mind… “What’s next?”  You introduce someone to your presentation, what’s next?  You sign up a new team member, what’s next?  You share a product with a new customer, what’s next?  There should always be a “What’s next?”

Action #4 – Build a team.

When you first get started in network marketing, it’s just you and you are working on building something.  As you start building your team, you create what Jim Britt calls your “success unit” (your success unit is what you need to maximize your compensation plan).  For you, maybe it is having 3 people.  You will then really start to take off and have a “power unit”, which is when you have 3 people, who have 3 people, who have 3 people, etc.

Action #5 – Look for and develop self-sustaining leaders.

Jim Britt shared a discussion he had with one leader who stated he recruited one person every month for 5 years (so he recruited 60 people in total).  Of those 60 people, 5 leaders were developed and from these leaders, this individual was earning $50,000/month.  So, here is the question… Would you be interested in earning $50,000/month?  Find people with spark, interest, drive, and ambition to build a business.  Work with these serious people until they become self-sustaining and self- motivating leaders.

Action #6 – Apply “Self-Management”.

This is extremely critical.  There is not a lot to manage in the network marketing business.  The accounting, warehousing, product development, R&D, etc. is all done for you!  So, what is there to manage?  YOU.  Your attitude, your vision, your goals, your time.  It is important to stay in “self-management” mode all the time.

Then, before you go to bed each night, reflect back on your day and the 6 Daily Actions:
1 – Did you use your product and share it with others?
2 – Did you share your business opportunity?
3 – Did you follow-up?
4 – Did you work on your team building?
5 – Did you find or help develop leaders?
6 – Did you manage yourself?

Incorporate the 6 Daily Actions into your day and you will build a successful business.  Even if you don’t do it well, keep doing it.  You will achieve success because you have worked hard at it!

How to Build your List - Optimize your Email

Do you send emails?  I know, silly question!   Well, I am hooked on Alex Mandossian and his optimization strategies!  Who doesn’t need optimization?? We could all use a little optimization in many areas of our life, especially in email marketing!  Mr. Mandossian is the CEO of Heritage House Publishing, Inc. and is the founder of the Electronic Marketing Institute.  He states that any entrepreneur can turn their yearly income into a weekly income by utilizing Mr. Mandossian’s electronic marketing concepts and ideas.  He is also a member of the iLearningGlobal Faculty Hall of Fame.  Hello!  He knows his optimizing!

Did you know that every single business is an information marketing business?  No, that doesn’t mean you are marketing information, but you are constantly sharing information with others, your clients, your prospects, your customers, and your team members.  Email marketing optimization is misunderstood and consistently overlooked.  It is not “the more you tell, the more you sell”.  You want to entice your readers to read sentence after sentence and not hit the “delete” button.

So, how can you make changes? Your emails need to be formatted in a memo style and focus on one thought per email.  Do not digitally puke all over your recipients.  And, your emails should start off with one unarguable truth, like:

“I will this quick… it’s the end of the day.”
“I am glad that you opened this.”

Keep in mind the purpose of your emails. Alex Mandossian shared a very important secret… the more you promote in your emails, the more your recipients will “delete” the emails.  Email is considered “off-page” marketing; your website is “on-page” marketing.  With you emails, you want to bring your addresses back to your website, your blog, your Facebook page, etc.  You want to bring them from off-page to on-page (bring them to you through your emails). Then, let the on-page (your websites) do the work.  The emails are like a “tap on the shoulder” to get them to your website.

How does Alex Mandossian write an email?  Well, the first thing he does is at the top of his email, he types 21 W’s. This is the widest letter and this is how wide your emails should be.  When he gets to the end of the W’s, he does a hard return and this makes a very uniform and clean-cut email.  Isn’t this interesting? I had never heard this before!

For content, Mr. Mandossian follows this simple 6-step process (remember to include the 6 items below in an email):
1 – Who: Who is the email from?  This is you.
2 – What: What is the email about? This would be the Subject line of the email.
3 – Why: Why do you need to click on the link?
4 – When: When do you need to click on the link?
5 – How: How to click on the link?
6 – Where: Where to go after clicking the link?
You need to answer these questions in your email and the email should be 100 words or less.

Can you do it?  The key is to keep your audience captivated and you can not compete in an email box (there is too much noise and clutter).  Email is the #1 distraction. So, in summary, your emails need to contain the following:

  • One thought in your email and incorporate a memo style/format
  • Email is off-page marketing; your website is on-page marketing (let website do the work!)
  • 21 W’s – this is how wide your email should be and then make a hard return
  • 6 W’s – You will eliminate writer’s block and write emails faster and with less effort.

Do you have a Business Card?  Is it optimized?  Is that a strange question?  When I first heard about Business Card Optimization…. I thought what?  But after hearing more from Alex Mandossian and learning his optimization strategies, I am hooked!  Mr. Mandossian is the CEO of Heritage House Publishing, Inc. and is the founder of the Electronic Marketing Institute.  He is also a Faculty Member of iLearningGlobal.tv.

Every business is an information marketing business.  The most basic element to market “your” information is your business card.  Do you use your business card effectively today?  Is your business card doing you justice and are your contacts keeping your business card or does it get tossed into the trash after your event or meeting is over?  Your business card is marketing material that you want to be used and used and used over again.  Think of your business card as a mini billboard.  Does that change your thinking?

During the video presentation from Mr. Mandossian, he pulled out his business card and this was reviewed in detail and I want to share those details with you.  With his business card, he stated that he can hand out 500 cards and will get 2000 visitors to his website.  How does that happen?  How?  He is passing along value.  So, let’s get to the details…

Front of Business Card
1 – Your picture needs to be on the front of the card.  You want people to remember your face and remember you when you are gone.  You can be in any business, any position, and any company.  This is the front of your mini billboard.

2 – “I’m looking forward to meeting you at this seminar”.  This was on the top of the business card.  You can have different cards for specific events.

3 – Include your name and title on the front.  And, instead of an address and phone number, include an 800# with a 24-hour recorded message that interested parties can call and get the Frequently Asked Questions answered they may have.  You don’t want to waste your time with “tire kickers”.  So, how do you do this?  There are companies everywhere that can do 24-hour messages.  Think of the 5-8 most frequently asked questions you are asked.  What do you people ask you when they call?  Record these questions and answers and your phone calls following will be optimized.

Then on the back…

Back of Business Card
Now for the back of your business card, you need to include an offer (or as Alex Mandossian calls it, “ethical bribe”).  Do not just include your website.  Mr. Mandossian shared his offer that is on the back of his business card:

“At this moment, you’re one click away from discovering the seven proven secrets that help you get more done faster, better, and with less human effort.”

Ooooh…. that’s good.  Include your website below the offer and your audience will go to your website and your list will grow.  His offer includes a free audio e-book; you can offer anything!

How to Build Trust - Keep your Commitments!

Dr. Stephen Covey, a well-known and compelling speaker and mentor on leadership, ethics, trust and enhanced performance, has spoken to viewers and audiences all over the globe.  Dr. Covey is also a best-selling author of many books, including The SPEED of Trust (if you haven’t read this, you need to!).  Dr. Covey shared the #1 behavior to build trust in a video on iLearningGlobal (learn more about iLearningGlobal).  Do you know what #1 behavior is?  Read on…

Dr. Covey was asked out of the 13 behaviors, if you could only pick one behavior to work on, what is the most important to build trust?  All 13 are important, but according to Dr. Covey, keeping commitments builds trust faster in a new relationship and creates long-lasting relationships.

Making commitments, keeping commitments, and repeating this cycle will increase trust and do it quickly.  You need to do what you say you are going to do.  However, this can also be a dangerous behavior if you over-compromise and don’t deliver.  If you do this repeatedly, you may not have a second or third chance to regain the trust of your customers, prospects, colleagues, family members, or friends.   And, you will lose all credibility and this can attract a lot of attention.

Now, don’t let this scare you… You can’t be afraid to make commitments as this is not the nature of our crazy world today.  Commitments are part of everyday life and business.  Making commitments builds hope; keeping commitments builds trust.

So, how do you earn new business and trust with a new prospect?  Make and keep commitments and the trust level will increase and it will increase fast.  Find commitments that create and add value for your prospects.  And, tell your prospects what to look for (signal your behavior).

Dr. Covey talked about a friend of his who is a CEO of a company and  this CEO has a philosophy and strategy when starting any new relationship.  The CEO states to his new prospect that any good relationship is based on trust.  When he makes a commitment, you can count on that and he will deliver.  He is signaling his behavior and when he delivers on his commitments, the relationship develops and grows quickly.

So, if you say you are going to do something, then DO IT!  Keeping commitments is a great behavior to build trust and build it fast.  Remember, this is not just about business… You can do this with your family members, friends, co-workers, networking groups, prospects, and customers.  Making and keeping commitments is THE fastest way to build trust and when you do this over time, you will build a reputation of “wow… he/she does what he/she said she was going to do” and guess what?

This kind of reputation is money in the marketplace!

iLG Leadership Event - It's Time to Climb!

Elevate and decide in the air!

That was the message from Boyd Matheson, President of iLearningGlobal.tv, this past weekend at the Leadership Event in Indianapolis, Indiana.   What, you say?  How does this apply to me and my business?  What can this possibly mean?

All of us need to raise and change our view.  It’s time to stop whining and start stepping up as leaders.  Every day is Transformation Day with iLearningGlobal.tv (iLG).  Elevate your thoughts, your thinking, your view and more importantly, take someone with you.  We need to think and act like an entrepreneur every day!

In order to survive and succeed, you must do the following:
1 – Change the way you learn
2 – Change the way you earn
3 – Think like an Entrepreneur and Act like an Entrepreneur every day!

Think about these statistics…
- The Top 10 “in demand” jobs in 2010 did not even exist in 2004.
- We are currently preparing our college participants for jobs that don’t yet exist.
- This one is staggering… Today’s college students will have 10-14 jobs by the age of 38.

Today’s economy and ever competitive marketplace requires “knowledge-preneurs”.  We need to learn how to learn, learn how to write, learn how to communicate, and learn to love learning.  We have to commit becoming life-long learners.  How do we do that?

What has happened to the Entrepreneur over the last 250 years?  Mr. Matheson broke the last 250 years down into 3 Eras of Entrepreneurship.  Our Founding Fathers were Entrepreneurs!!!  Where are we today?  We are currently heading back to the Era of Entrepreneurial Interdependence.  Entrepreneurs need to stand together, work together, and prevail.  Today, 96% of employees in the United States work for companies that have less than 20 people.  There are 26 million small businesses in the United States.  This is a huge market.

To change the way we earn and change the way we learn, we do this by thinking and acting like an entrepreneur every day.  If you are going to be successful on this planet today, you need to think and act like an entrepreneur every day.  Don’t’ allow people (naysayers, negative people, etc.) to keep you “down” in the valley.  Elevate your thinking and elevate your thoughts.

We have exactly what the world needs!  iLG  provides knowledge, training, and transformation.  We are truly in the right place at the right time.  This is the Day of the Entrepreneur.  So, what do I do?  To act like an Entrepreneur, you must have the following:

1 – The Right Strategy
2 – The Right Knowledge and Training
3 – The Right Support System

Do you have The Right Strategy?  “Hope” is not a strategy and “good enough” is NEVER enough.  You need a SOLID strategy.  What is your strategy?  And, never underestimate the power of one… never underestimate YOU.  Think like an Entrepreneur.  And, there is no better Support System than iLG.  All the pieces are in place.

The entrepreneur will work like most people won’t for a few years so they can live the rest of their life like most people can’t.  Work like crazy for a few years and then enjoy the fruits of life.  This is not get-rich quick… this is a journey.  Surround yourself with Entrepreneurs.  Entrepreneurs drive freedom.

So, will you elevate your view?  It is time to climb.  Choose to climb!
